Television & Movie Location

The motion-picture industry discovered the area’s beauty in the 1920's and 1930's, when the site of what is now Sherwood Country Club became a popular filming location. Scenes from the feature films Tarzan and Birth of a Nation were filmed here, and the local valley was the location for countless westerns. In more recent film history, the Clubhouse itself has been featured in a number of television shows, such as The Mentalist, commercials, and feature films, including the popular Bridesmaids.
